My Big Why behind health obsession
I am deeply in love with the idea that today’s adults are very fortunate to live multiple lives, something that was not available for previous generations.
Health span is what makes us truly rich, not in terms of having more material things but in experiences, opportunities, relationships, identities, and missions.
Why not to start a sport like skydiving after 40, go to China to study the ancient game "Go" after 50, or start a new career after 60? Our vitality is increasingly less defined by our chronological age. What makes the difference is how early we start investing in our health span.
I believe that the range of experiences and complexity of life directly translate into our capability to develop the next level of self and world understanding in a new emergent way. And that finally, this understanding will lead us to realize our own mission.
My other big hope is that with longer health spans we have more chances to truly appreciate the mystery and beauty of life and develop a more compassionate attitude towards the world and each other.
